Be Smart In Service Delivery, Says Minister.

THE  Minister for Public Service Joe Sungi has  urged public servants to be smart  when it comes to service delivery in the public sector.

“The use of smart phones should be used to help in service delivery at all levels in the public sector,” said Sungi during the presentation of ICT equipment to the Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance recently.

“Our people should not have to wait in long ques to be served, the use of digital equipment to further enhance our service delivery is essential. It enables public  servants efficient service delivery to our people,” he said.

“Do not delay tasks, work efficiently and effortlessly and  do not expect anything in return. You are public servant here to serve your people,” said the Minister.

“The government  acknowledges that public servants are an important asset to PNG in achieving progress for our country,” said Sungi.

He added that the use of digital technology and the data revolution offer the country significant potential to increase public service efficiency and delivery, and to boost transparency and citizen trust.
