“The Government of Korea donated the internet access center building in 2013 to the institute with 42 desktop computers. This time they have donated more than 96 desktops, 20 laptops, routers and other ICT accessories to the value of US$150,000 (about K603,000).

“The institute is intentionally moving into digitally-enabled teaching and learning environment in its efforts to reach and empower many public servants in a cost effective manner,” he said.

“I extend to the Republic of Korea, through the PNG embassy our gratitude for the significant gesture of technical assistance that will contribute to public sector capacity development and effective, efficient and equitable service delivery across PNG,” said Sungi. Republic of Korea Ambassador Choi Jongho said public servants are important assets to PNG in pursuing progress and prosperity.

“As for Korea, we have achieved rapid development and prosperity during the last 80 years after independence through the devotion, professionalism and efficiency of public servants in our country.

“Cultivating competent public servants requires a quality educational institution such as SILAG. That is why we put so much importance in public sector education and training,” said Ambassador Choi.
