Online Performance Management System Workshop

Deputy Secretary, Executive Resourcing services, Vele Ravugamini during his opening remarks at the PMS Online Workshop.

Performance of agency heads through the Department of Personnel Management’s Performance Management System will now be strictly done online.

This was announced by the Deputy Secretary of Department of Personnel Management Mr. Vele Ravugamini when addressing national agency representatives during a 2-day workshop hosted by the department.

Mr Ravugamini told the participants that the Manual Mode of Performance Management System will cease as of next year (2023) and Agencies will only be using the Online Performance Management System.

All government agencies will use the Data Gathering Form to upload the Departmental Head’s Key Result Areas (KRAs).

Key Result Areas are assessments of a departmental head on the implementation deliverables of the department’s       objectives such as Corporate plans, functional responsibilities, government directives and such.

Human Resource and Planners from the National agencies attended the two-day workshop hosted by DPM in Port Moresby, to learn how to formulate  agency heads KRAs, and provide guidance on how to upload the KRA onto the Online System.

Deputy Secretary Mr Vele Ravugamini said DPM has rolled out the online Performance Management System since 2019.

He said through this online system, it would be easy for DPM to monitor the Departmental Heads performances as according to their contracts which is performance based.

It is anticipated that the workshop will equip the participants the needed knowledge to formulate the respective agencies KRAs.
